Whois lookup

See registration details for a domain

What is a whois lookup? Every registered domain has public records showing who registered it, when, and through which registrar. This tool queries those records (via the modern RDAP protocol) to show you registration and expiry dates, the registrar, and the domain's nameservers.

Why is there no owner name or email?

Since GDPR took effect in 2018, registrars hide the personal contact details of most domain owners. To reach an owner, use the registrar’s contact form or abuse address.

Whois and RDAP

RDAP is the modern replacement for the old whois protocol: it returns structured, consistent data over HTTPS. Since January 2025, RDAP has been the official source of registration data for generic domains (.com, .net, .org and the rest), and this tool uses it.

.gr domains

The Greek registry doesn’t offer a public RDAP or whois service that can be queried automatically, so .gr details have to be looked up on the official FORTH whois page. To see whether a .gr name is free, try Domain availability.
